SPA Faculty Brings Leadership to International Academy of Management: UNM Newsroom

Nicholas Edwardson, professor of health administration at UNM’s School of Public Administration, is bringing the program global attention. He is the 2022 Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Chair for the Healthcare Management (HCM) Division of the Academy of Management.

The Academy of Management is the leading professional association for management professionals in the world, with nearly 18,000 members in more than 100 countries.

“This provides great visibility for the UNM School of Public Administration (SPA) and, in particular, our health administration program,” said Patria de Lancer Julnes, Director of UNM SPA. . “It’s in line with our plan to bring more national and international attention to the school. As president of the PDW, Edwardson will provide intellectual leadership and administrative expertise. He is responsible for developing the DIG PDW program which will be part of the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, to be held in Seattle, Washington, August 5-9, 2022. The theme for this meeting is “Creating a better world together.”

“In this leadership role, Professor Edwardson is responsible for creating the PDW call for submissions and is the primary contact for all submitters involved in the HCM PDW program…ultimately organizes and coordinates the entire PDW program for the HCM division,” Sharon explained.
