Shielbaggan manager Patricia bids farewell to her retirement party
THE years of service and dedication that Patricia Foran has given to students in the area as both teacher and principal were recognized at her retirement party at the Brandon House Hotel.
s Foran from Ballygarvin, Gusserane, worked two years at CBS New Ross, one year at Newbawn NS, followed by her longest tenure – at Adamstown NS, where she spent 14 years. Nine years at Ballycullane National School followed, with Ms Foran ending her career as headmistress of Shielbaggan National School for a decade.
Patricia said she has enjoyed each of her 35 total years of her teaching career which has spanned work in several communities in South West Wexford. “She has always shown the utmost dedication in her service to the education system and, most importantly, to the students in her various teaching positions,” said her successor in Shielbaggan, Nova Scotia, Principal Kevin Nimmo.
A special presentation and dinner in recognition of everyone’s sincere gratitude for Mrs. Foran’s many years of dedicated service was hosted by the Shielbaggan National School Management Board and St James Parish Finance Committee at Brandon House Hotel with best wishes on his retirement.
