Oxford School District Announces Parents of the Year – The Oxford Eagle

The Oxford School District handed out its Parent of the Year awards on Monday, recognizing parents from each school in the district.

This year’s winners were Aley Reece from Bramlett Elementary, Mary Chris Moore from Central Elementary, Jill Stevens from Della Davidson Elementary, Ashley Wilkinson from Oxford Intermediate School, Tara Denevan from Oxford Middle School and Adrian Shipman from Oxford High School.

Denevan was recognized as the District’s Parent of the Year for her efforts in organizing Christmas presents for more than 300 students in the District. An active member of the parent-teacher organization, Denevan earns his second Parent of the Year award after receiving the honor in 2019.

“That honor goes to just one parent, but our school district is made up of so many amazing parents,” Denevan said. “I wouldn’t be able to do most of the things I do without the help and involvement of other parents. It’s a great honor, it’s a great recognition and I’m happy to represent the parents of our Oxford school district.

Winners were recognized for their service to the Oxford community at the monthly OSD Board meeting.
