‘One class at a time’ honors Billings West High School German teacher

Q2, Billings Education Foundation and City Brew Coffee have partnered for “One Classroom at a Time”. It is a program that recognizes teachers who go above and beyond to help their students.

This week, we stop at Billings West High School to pay tribute to Natasha Campbell, a German teacher who has shared her joy of teaching for over two decades. Originally from Russia, Frau Campbell moved to the United States in the 90s and began teaching German at West High in 1998, where the program flourished. Her classroom is lavishly decorated with a love of German language, history and culture and the energy and joy she brings to her students is contagious.

“We just want to make sure everyone can speak, understand and speak German fluently and we all have a high level of proficiency, of course. Full understanding,” Ms Campbell said.

“And, of course, we’re thrilled to have the best students here at Billings.”

Natasha ensures that every student in her classes stays engaged and that her German 1 students can speak and understand a considerable amount of German after just a few months. For her incredible dedication to West High, Ms. Campbell received a $500 grant from the Billings Education Foundation and a $150 gift card from City Brew Coffee. Congratulations!
