Boise School District announces schedule to fill empty board seat


BOISE, Idaho – The Boise School District has announced its schedule to fill a vacant position on the Boise School Board of Directors.

The council will follow By-law 1131 (R), according to the announcement. To be eligible for the office of trustee, you must be at least 18 years of age, be an elector and a resident of the Boise School District, and have no direct or indirect interest in district contracts.

The Boise School District Board of Directors sets the policies that guide the public education of students. Administrators assess the needs and aspirations of the community in order to develop an educational program compatible with community resources.

The schedule for appointing directors began on October 29. The nomination process is open now and nominations are available on the Board of Directors website or at the Office of the Clerk of the Board at 8169 W. Victory Road in Boise.

Applications must be returned by November 10. They must be signed by the applicant in person at the Registrar of the Commission no later than 5:00 p.m. that day. The form must be complete and applications will be posted on the Board’s website.

On November 16, there will be a special board meeting at 5:30 p.m. for the review and voting of candidates to be interviewed. On November 19, there will be a special board meeting at 2 p.m. to interview the candidates and select the new director.

The new trustee will be officially sworn in at the regular board meeting on December 13 at 6 p.m.
