Accident leaves one adult dead and one child injured

The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident happened just after 3:30 p.m. on State Route 81 near Whit Chamblee Road in Anderson County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol website.
James M. McMahan, 74, of Iva, was the driver killed in the crash, according to Donald McCown of the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
