A 17-year-old boy was arrested for murder on Sunday, July 3, after he allegedly stabbed his pregnant teacher to death in a bid to end their illicit affair in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The victim, a 30-year-old pregnant teacher, allegedly had an extramarital affair with the underage suspect, who lived in her neighborhood. Recently, the boy began to have doubts about their relationship and wanted to sever ties with the teacher as he was worried about his reputation. However, the teacher reportedly didn’t want to end their relationship and pressured him to continue their affair, News18 reported.
On June 1, the boy allegedly went to the victim’s home when she was alone and, in a fit of rage, stabbed her to death. After killing the woman, the boy broke the lock on a cupboard in the victim’s bedroom and also fled with 633 US dollars (50,000 Indian rupees) and other valuables to make the scene look like from crime to robbery gone wrong and trick the police.
“The boy wanted to end the relationship with his teacher because he was worried about his reputation. The woman, however, did not want this and was pressuring him to continue the relationship,” the superintendent said. Ayodhya Police Principal Shailesh Pandey.
“The accused went to the woman and killed her with a rod,” he continued.
After an investigation that lasted more than a month, the boy was arrested for the murder on Sunday July 3 and will appear before a juvenile justice commission.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a man has been accused of brutally strangling his girlfriend to death for apparently pushing her to marry him in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India, the Latin Times reported. .
The accused, a 21-year-old man, allegedly had an affair with the 19-year-old victim, a high school student. On June 4, when she was returning from school, the suspect allegedly took her to a hotel on a bicycle.
While the couple were spending time at the hotel, the victim allegedly pressured the accused to marry her. This led to a heated argument between the couple during which, in a fit of rage, the accused strangled the woman to death. After strangling her to death, the accused took her body to his home village of Athwariwala and buried her next to a drain with the help of a friend.
On Friday, June 24, the police picked up the accused for questioning. When the man was questioned about his involvement in the death, he reportedly confessed to his crime.
